Assist league car performance?!
Like you do in the PL leagues you have the car performance on 2013 so the slower drivers get the faster car and the faster drivers get the slower cars, can this be imputed into the assist leagues?!

Re: Assist league car performance?!
I've had this happen in another league before.
It doesn't really work in practice. The cars aren't evenly distributed for it to be balanced, and the same goes for player skill levels.
Which is unfortunate, really.

i dont like this concept, I am in another league that tries to to use the "handicap" system. There is a lot of continuing arguing about car allocation. It has caused a lot of good drivers to lose interest in that league too.
Al1 has a phenomenal attendance rate, and is becoming incredibly competitive at the front, with 4 different race winners already this season, so im pretty sure our blueprint, is the one to be emulated.

AL3 is more or less the same at the moment, 3 different race winners. And it's generally been pretty close (Monaco and Canada race edits show some good stuff) with only maybe the back two being significantly far behind; To the point where, even if they had the top car, it probably wouldn't change much.
AL2, from what I've seen when stewarding this season, also is in a similar position.

I imagine, if there were 10 or so people who actually wanted this, then an 'AL 2013' league could be arranged or something.
Re: Assist league car performance?!
I have raced in a couple of these types of leagues in the past, one was very successful and resulted in some very good close battles where qualifying at times was separated by a few tenths down the entire grid and the others failed miserably.
In each league there was always a ridiculous amount of arguing over car selections etc which is to be expected I guess as no one wants to be in a car that they know they have absolutely no chance of winning in and ultimately defeats the object of what is trying to be achieved.
I believe that the only way these types of leagues can work is by having drivers of varying ability but the key thing is that the difference between the slowest to the next slowest driver must be quite small and so on and so on until you reach the fastest driver in the league which is very difficult to put together. Having lots of drivers of similar ability never works as the difference between each car doesn't match up to the difference between each driver if that makes sense.
Having raced in these leagues previously I personally wouldn't be interested in this type of league as I got no satisfaction when I won in the best car as I knew full well it was because of the car mainly and not me. I know I'm slowish but feel the only way to continue to improve is to race against better drivers on equal terms and to be prepared to put in the practice but that's just my opinion on it and it does seem like PL2 works quite well on this site so what do I know.
