Qually - 5th
was tricky as I had never raced in the wet around the track.

Race - 3rd
Off the start, contact glitch sent RD into a spin, then got Crack on the first lap too. Next lap Liamatt went wide in the last chicane, up into 2nd, was battling with him till lap 6 or so, then after that I was just racing on my own

Quali- hadn't yet raced in the wet on my wheel, so was getting a feel for it and to only be 2 secs off wasn't a bad attempt at all in my eyes.

Race- Got a good start, opted to run down the outside to gain positions. Sadly quite a few cars ran wide into turn 1 forcing myself a bit wide in the process. Next few laps were fairly smooth and a battle with RDS was brewing. He pitted much earlier than me, enabling me to push and close the gap to James and Crank. James Pitted and came out just behind me. I decided to pit lap 16 and then the race got exciting.

Put on the primes and was aiming to not stop again, afterall I have been able to manage the tyres well in other grand Prix. Got into a 20+ lap battle with RDS which slowed us both down big time. However, it was so much fun even though he did occassionally run into the back of me, one time driving me of the road. He did allow me back through though, which was sporting. This enabled Gav to catch us. We all battled for a few laps and on lap 28/29 the move of the century took place. I had DRS on RDS and was about to sail past, when this nutter going by the name of Gav (only joking mate) had DRS on the pair of us and mugged us around the outside. Top quality move, and I really hope one of you have a recording of it!

From there on it was a battle between myself and my main rival Gav, having an epic battle. Sadly RDS faded not sure what happened to him. Gav made his second stop and was hunting me down with 13 laps or so remaining. He was starting to reel me in as my 26 lap old primes were starting to degrade. Could here him on the mic wondering if I was pitting again or not. Battle lasted until lap 40 were myself and Gav had lapped RDS. All going into turn 1, RDS for some unknown reason tried to overtake me, meaning I had to take avoiding action and clipped Gav resulting into a spin for him. I slowed and let him back past and thought I'd just settle for 6th. However, my front right had other ideas and blew up on the DRS staright leaving me with great difficulties for the rest of the lap thus destroying my race. Lost over 25 seconds to LII4M behind and rejoined in 7th with my team mate trying to get past me in the final 2 laps. Thankfully I fended him off and finished 7th.
Not a good result, but for 40 laps it was pure fun racing. Hoping to put it right in my home Grand Prix next week!

Quali - not used to driving in the wet with tc off, struggled abit ended up 7th

Race - got a good start manged to get by the force indiad as they went off was up into 4th, gav and me were side by side right up untill the chicane, i out broke myself and went straight off. Had to go the wrong way and re-join at the back. On lap 6 while trying to catch pids. Got on the throttle too early and the car spat me into the wall with no front wing and a puncture. By the time i had pitted i was 50 seconds down on 9th place. Cue a recovery drive! As the others made mistakes infront of me i soldered on. Did two 19 lap stints on the soft tyre, was catching the guys infront of me two seconds a lap. Managed to finish 6th after Ferrari mania pitted late on, my tyres just holding out at the end. I do feel i could of been fighting for the podium had i not binned it early on.

Qually 1st - pretty pleased with pole as it was my very first lap in the wet haha, very cautious lap which seemed to pay off I guess.

Race 1st - The race for me was pretty straight forward, got a great start and I was 1.1 seconds clear off 2nd place after the 1st sector alone. I knew Liammat started on the primes so he had 2 options stints to go after his primes. After we both pitted the gap was about 7.5 seconds, he got it down to about 3 seconds when I pitted for my final option stint. Increased the gap to 9 seconds and than Liammat got a puncture so that was done and dusted from so on, as I was 35 seconds ahead. Just brought it home to achieve my 2nd win out of 2 races I participated in, pretty happy.

Thanks.

What a race!

Quali was going well, I was set to go about 4th, as I was only 0.6s of UD before I made a big error at stavelot. 6th Sad

Made a decent start on primes, elevated to 5th when RDS was tapped at Turn 1, and then 4th at Les combes, when one of the Force Indias was very generous with space. I then had Liam (of all people!!) on my tail, and we raced side by side from Pouhon round to Stavelot before outbreaking ourselves at the chicane. He fell to 9th, me 10th. I accidently T boned RDS coming back on to the track. Sorry dude!

From there it was recovery. Eventually I began to make progress, passing stubob at Rivage after a decent if time consuming battle, and then RDS on the run up to Les combes, just after Liam took himself off. I was up to 7th At this point I was around 10 seconds from Ferrari Mania, and not gaining. As pit stops came in to play, I came up to the back of RDS and a newly pitted FM, but had to pit on Lap 18, finally shedding my primes.

Now on Options, and with the battling duo of RDS and FM ahead of me, I started tearing in to the 15 second lead they had on me at around 2 seconds a lap, and towards the around Lap 27ish, I pulled a stunning move. FM had DRS on RDS, and went for the inside, but left room further up the inside for my car, and I blew past both of them in to Les Combes. Gutted there doesn't appear to be a vid.

Now 5th, I resisted FM for a couple of laps before pitting on Lap 31. RDS had now fallen away, and I expected FM to pit around the same time as me for a set of options, but he soldiered on. At first the gap didn't change too drastically, but I began to lap nearly 2 seconds a lap quicker. I caught him at Les combes, but we were lapping RDS, so couldn't make the move, waiting until Fagnes, where, following a great exit of Pouhon, I went round the outside in to the right hander and took 5th.

From there I cruised home, crankshaft 30 seconds clear, RDS did catch me, and actually hit me trying to pass, which was rather bizarre. No issues as I didn't lose a position, but maybe lapped cars shouldn't be influencing the race like that.

Nevertheless, a solid 5th, and up to 4th ahead of my main rival FM in the championship. A decent recovery drive, shame I made the mistake on the first lap, as I felt I could have taken the race to crankshaft, the car had great straight line speed, and was beautiful in the fast stuff at pouhon and fagnes.

Quali Tricky in the wet

Race first lap avoiding the carnage at the last corner lost me loads of time .lost concentration after first pit due to wife shouting (not good) and hit a barrier . Had to pit again that lap , No interruptions for rest of race did the best I could not brill but I'm happy anyway
