Keep the safety car?
Moving Forward with (or without) the Safety Car
As I'm sure most of you know, the safety car has caused a couple of problems over the last 2 season.
Therefore we are having a poll to see whether or not drivers would like to carry on with it, or remove it altogether for the remainder of the season, starting from Spain. The poll will be up for 7 days, ending next Sunday.
The poll is for keeping the safety car, with a yes vote to keep as is, and a no vote to remove.
Please vote on the poll in this thread and feel free to discuss it below.
NB. This will only count for F1 2016. We will re-evaluate is come F1 2017.
EDIT
If it's a draw, we keep it.

Not conclusively. I still have one idea that I want to test which in theory should avoid it.
Re: Moving Forward with (or without) the Safety Car
My opinion, it's broken, it comes out for everything EXCEPT fatal collisions, & even if the stewards found/find a way to leave safely & stop it coming out (we did by the way, then the last patch changed it again) every DSC, DSQ, rage quit or even trying to leave safely in the pitlane will STILL bring it out, if not at the time because a SC has just been out, then 6 laps later, & by then everyone's forgotten why it's out in the 1st place. That's why i voted to dump it for the remainder of the Season on this game. More racing, less crawling round @ a snails pace.

I also voted to get rid of safety car, as I totally agree with dastardly, the safety car causes more problems than necessary like goes too slow and causes accidents when it bunches the group up. It also causes penalties for no reason when drivers are trying to catch the pack. We need 100% racing and good battles without any problems, and in game penalties are good enough.

i also agree to get rid of it until the whole SC thing is fixed. Having to drive ridiculously slowly round the track for 3/4 laps because of someone dsc or leaving etc is just stupid.

Re: Moving Forward with (or without) the Safety Car
Whilst it isn't practical for the steward(s), leaving after Quali and rejoining on the warm up should be the best solution if it works, because the steward(s) can then see
the opening lap from a better view (obviously there's going to be incidents in some races on lap 1 so this helps).
I voted Yes because the Safety car is part of the sport, as well as 'spicing' races up in terms of creating different strategies (I enjoy having to think about changing my strategy because the safety car has come out mid way through the race). Hopefully there's a solution because it would be a shame to remove it.. I just don't get why on previous games a steward could retire immediately without no fuss, but now they can't do that without bringing out the safety car.
(Another option to take into account would be for the steward to retire on a part of the track that isn't dangerous and in normal circumstances (real life), wouldn't bring out the safety car (even if that brought out the VSC at worse, it's better than a full safety car).
EDIT: Sorry about the photo being cropped, I think you can make out what the guy says

Re: Moving Forward with (or without) the Safety Car
SC update, AL1's race last night : Only 1 x VSC for a genuine crash early in the race, 2 x full SC during race, 1 for a retirement & 1 for no reason that i can figure out yet on lap 21. Â No SC appeared due to the Stewards leaving, it's still broken, another update after AL2's race on Friday then the poll shuts on Sunday.

I believe the safety car should be kept because, although yes it does come out for unnecessary reasons it does allow drivers to have a change in strategy, therefore spicing up the racing.

SC update, AL2's race last night : no SC out because of Steward leaving, 3 VSC's for DNF's or DSQ's. No SC on track at all during race, that's a 1st in a long time.
