Week 1 of the driver transfer window
It's been a roller coaster first week in the driver transfer market in PL, below is a summery of the outgoing and in goings around the paddock in PL.
Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team:
In - Pdids9, Jamesboro1993
Out - Stewy, Bulletproof
After losing Stewy to McLarren, a highly rumored move across the paddock materialized as Mercedes announced Stewys replacement in Jamesboro1993 in the wake of recent speculation. In form Pdids9 found himself a contract offer from many teams across the paddock but eventually signed with Mercedes pushing Bullet into a difficult situation.
Scuderia Torro Rosso:
In - N/A
Out - N/A
It's been all quiet amongst the official new at Torro Rosso but there's been numerous speculation coming out of the Faenza based team that both drivers are hatching a scheme to move away from PL, no matter what happens we'll be keeping a keen eye on the situation at Torro Rosso.
Infiniti Red Bull Racing:
In - N/A
Out - Pdids9
It's been a hefty blow to Christian Horner's outfit as star man Pdids9 has left the team earlier this week to join up with Jamesboro1993 in the Mercedes, it is unclear what Red Bull are planning to do as a replacement but as always we'll hear it first.
Scuderia Ferrari:
In - Bulletproof
Out - Jamesboro1993
Stefano Domenicali has been under venomous pressure by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo to secure a "world class" driver and has succeeded by signing the highly rated Bulletproof but is under massive pressure to get a good result after a poor start to the season and it will come as a blow to the Itallian team to have lost their number one driver in Jamesboro1993, which will hurt their title chances.
Sauber F1 Team:
In - N/A
Out - MoodyMufc2011, KimiRaikkonen07
Monisha Kaltenborn released a statement late yesterday announcing that due to the recent economic difficulties the Sauber F1 team has folded and have pulled out of the sport but in the 11th hour a replacement team was announced by the FiA securing both of the former Sauber drives for the current season, the name of this team is unknown but is largely speculated around the paddock to be Lotus.
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes:
In - Hudunikibolokov, Stewy
Out - N/A
Martin Whitmarsh is said to be very pleased with his winter signings and has recently quoted to have said "the ambition of McLarren has been showed by the signing of these two talented drivers". Whether or not they can challenge for the title is unknown after the inconsistency with both drivers forms this season.
Williams F1 Team:
In - N/A
Out - Hudunikibolokov
Williams title hunt will have suffered a blow as Hudunikibolokov left the team this weak, whether SQ80 can maintain the charge to the title is a possibility but could be difficult if a replacement isn't found but interestingly there has been rumors that Willaims have held talks with a former PL champion to return to racing with Williams.
