Monaco Penalty's Empty Re: Monaco Penalty's

The outcome of Benappleby's incidents that occured during the Monaco GP:
- FIA decided that the first one with Barwell74 was a racing incident, because you can see on the video that Ben runs wide into the wall, and that same wall pushed him straight back onto the racing line so FIA ruled barwell74 had nowhere to go and this goes down as a racing incident.

However,
The FIA decided to give an official warning to Benappleby for the 2nd and 3rd incident with Dave and Will. We would like Benappleby to show more awareness in the future races. The second incident with Dave Ben ran into the wall and went for a gap that wasn't there and they had a coming together, the third one Benappleby made a mistake which made him go wide into the wall and lost significant speed during the process. Will however didn't make this mistake and had the racing line and quite clearly the speed advantage.

Thanks,
League Manager.

Lol that'll teach me to appeal (keeps it interesting in the weeks between races!) Understand and accept the Barwell and Will incidents - with the Will one I thought being slammed into the wall while being overtaken was a bit harsh but can see how I should have been more careful so wanted a second opinion to see who was at fault if anyone.

The tunnel incident decision absolutely astounds me. If there's no fault apportioned to the other driver then surely it's a racing incident. Believe it or not the tunnel is wide enough to fit more than one car. As per the photo below, with the extra speed, having got alongside the other car, and with the gaping space in front to drive through, what did you expect me to do? Surely I was entitled to the space on the left hand side of the track having got alongside? I obviously couldn't go any more left, but the other driver could and I would say should have taken a tighter line through the corner acknowledging I had track position on the left  What a Face

if I could just suggest my opinion, it looks as though dave was following the racing line which we can see in the picture as he is driving straight over the yellow line, and as you can see the racing line veers off towards the left hand side of the wall as it is a very fast and very tight tunnel. at the point of the photo above, you were not directly alongside as the racing line started to veer towards the left so that means dave had the position going into the tight turn in the tunnel, maybe what you should have done was ease of the throttle and try to overtake down towards the chicane, which would of been a more safer overtaking option don't you think? just my opinion, don't want to cause an unneeded argument.

No I find these discussions interesting - I tend to find everyone disagrees with me though so I think I'm going to pipe down in future!

I take the racing line point, but it's not all about the racing line. One of the most standard overtakes is to stick it up the inside - not on the racing line but you take the high ground, preventing the other driver turning in and taking the normal racing line as you've stuck your big ass in the way.

Taking a photo of the vid a few seconds later, I did get a lot more alongside, and I would say took the high ground meaning Dave couldn't take the racing line. Granted it was risky move but I don't think I did anything wrong in the execution - he had a long time to recognise I was there and take appropriate action, which was not to take the racing line and take a tighter one to avoid a collision.

I take your point about going down the inside, but to be fair when dave was going round the tight/fast right hander to the time in the photo above, that's only about a 2second gap in which he could take evasive action, which isn't a very long time to react when travelling about 150mph through that tunnel.
