AL2's Austrian GP - Podium Press Conference
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Red Bull Ring, home of the Austrian GP and RedBull Racing F1 team, and what a race where a few places were made up and personal mistakes were made but a well enjoyed race. We would like to welcome the 3 drivers who came out on top, and they are D_Dastardly, Bloomstar and DaveJ.
We would like to start with D_Dastardly as our race winner.
Q1: Your 2nd race win this season and 2nd one in a row. Was this another race weekend where the car was in immaculate condition to suit the track?
A1: Thankyou. The car setup was good but I think the final result was more down to staying on the dry tyres a few laps longer tha n outright pace this time, was good that it paid off though.
Q2: Do you feel that you and the car can go for a hat trick of races?
A2: Not sure about that, I might have added a few christmas kilos to the car by the next race.
Thank you D_Dastardly and congratulations on your race win.
We can now come to our P2 man, Bloomstar.
Q1: Well done on P2, that is your 3rd podium for you in your debut full season. How does that feel?
A1: Thank you, to be on the podium a third time feels almost unreal. I was much better prepared for this race and my teammate DaveJ helped my greatly with my setup. The rain also helped my pace compared to others.
Q2: We saw you change teams from McLaren to RedBull a couple of races ago, does the RedBull seem to be suiting you more?
A2: It was a strong proposal from RedBull that I could not refuse. Current league leader DaveJ is a great teammate, he is great to learn from and helps push me to perform for our team to bring points home for RedBull. Fantastic to see strong finishes from all the RedBull teams at this track. Well done guys.
Thank you Bloomstar and well done.
We'll come to our 3rd place man, DaveJ.
Q1: Well done on P3. Both RedBull's finished the race to secure P2 and P3, and keep the lead in the constructors title by 18 points. How are they feeling?
A1: With the retirement of Dek due to other commitments, we knew we needed someone with race pace and the ability to see out races to the end, he was scoring good points for McLaren on own, great etiquette on track and off, McLarens loss. So, yeah we are pretty confident we can push all the other teams to the end.
Q2: D_Dastardly has closed the gap to 12 points and also seems to be on fire. Do you feel that the drivers' title will be a tough fight with you, D_Dastardly and AllShotDown have finished the same amount of races and scored great fights?
A2: Who lol, Dastardly and AllShot will always be there, or be there abouts, my teamie, Mikey, Devil and a few more are all due a win imo. Yeah, it's going to be tough but I don't think it will be down to all three os us come the end of the season, all the drivers in this league have found great pace. Should be good come the end of the season.
Thank you DaveJ and well done.
We'll come back to our race winner for one last question.
Q3: Toro Rosso are now 2nd in the constructors title, do they feel that they can push it to RedBull Racing and take the lead?
A3: When we're both winning points I'm sure it's possible, it's a little bit too early in the season to say yet, but we'll be trying.
Thank you gentlemen for joining us here and congratulations, we'll now let you go and celebrate with your teammates and de-brief with your teams and we'll see you at silverstone.
And thank you ladies and gentlemen for coming to join us here at Austria and hope you enjoyed the race as much as we did and we'll see you all at Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix.
