steering wheel and pedals advice

Post by Guest on Sun Aug 18, 2013 11:42 pm

Hey guys, I am looking at getting a wheel and pedal setup in the near future. Wanted to know what sort of rigs u guys are driving with?. G25/27 seem like great price but getting outdated quickly. T5oo rs seems like the best value for build quality. Any advice welcome. Cheers.

I have a DFGT which i believe the majority of people on the site have.. it's incredibly sturdy in its construction even though it only costs about £150, more than half of the price of the G25 which i think is about £250/300. I highly recommend buying a brand new wheel because i had to buy one used which came with a dodgy Chinese power supply which burnt up in 4 days :obut apart from that issue which has now resulted in having an unpredictable calibration.. i none the less have had tons of fun with it, so there's always that option if you're open to it Smile

yeah i also have DFGT its a solid wheel never had any problems with it cost me about £120 and you could get a decent wheelstand for about £60/£80 so overall about £200.

hope this helps Smile

I too have got the Driving Force GT, I acquired it at Argos for about £120, something like that. You don't need to buy a wheel stand as I found out. I didn't want to waste any more money on some stand but you need to clamp it to something.

So I bought an adjustable glass laptop table and it current fulfill the wheels needs and still does to this day. I would highly recommend getting both items. I got the table from Range for £20.

You'll never look back once you get a wheel. Smile

I too have a DGFT, can't fault it once you get it set up properly. I got it for £40 from CEX's website.

I too have a wheel, and guess which on I have? No you guessed wrong I have a DFGT!

For the money you can't fault it at all. The wheel itself feels great. The pedals however are not the greatest but do their job I suppose

yeah that was what I had read. Wheel and force feedback pretty good, but pedals not so. Got to be more accurate than the pad though.

Liiam, if you don't use your DFGT do you drive with the pad? or are you using a different wheel?
