Hello there. Tonight was the night of the AL2 Monaco Grand Prix, a column about which will be written in due course. Today though everything paled into insignificance. I usually listen to the radio while I race, and on lap 71 some breaking news was announced. It was the news of the death of Nelson Mandela.

Some people have such a great effect on the world that mere words cannot begin to describe them. A man who spent 28 years in prison for standing up for what he believed in, and finally managed to achieve the end of apartheid in South Africa, he was able to change his country and the world for the better.

R.I.P. Nelson, and thank you.
